Leap Day


2024 has been as challenging as usual, especially where  cats are concerned. Hmmm ^oo^, so it will forever now be Poppy Day on Daffodil Day and back in the real world work is calling to me again, I suppose it is then time to write somethinghere  for posterity but sometimes its hard to get off your arse because the immediate future will remain the same with or without my input, this is a long range plan remember? And yet without it, how could I ever hope to change the shape of the world at all? I feel that tmuch his piece is pretty much unnecessary in the grand scheme of things, nothing that you cannot read about elsewhere if you go searching, it's just an update on the unfortunate shapes of the world with maybe a prediction or two for posterity...

We have had a landslide up here which has bollixed my plans up. The wet weather responsible has taken us up to ten storms so far this season, equalling the current record albethat a very recent one. I actually have 11 storm names written down in my book because I remember Storm Pia which blew across from Denmark last year. Spring may have come early to America, far too early some are saying, foreboding a difficult summer ahead for the states but over here I'm hearing predictions about snow for April, which is rare but not unheard of. How much April snow we might get is the real question.

Today is Leap Day. I remember the last one fondly as my last night out before lockdown. The news is still depressing only it's a different horse in the headlines now. and I don't really want to talk about the atrocity that is happening to Gaza.  As previously stated that is all coming home to roost like sand falling through an hourglass with 30,000 now dead while the rotw is still picking their sides. Nutty Yahoo bought up up the date of Ramadan in his ranting the other week and perhaps as the Year of the Dragon begins, wise men should fear this upcoming moonless night night as it will likely become an auspicious historical date for the exodus to start in earnest and that will really kick the Holy War forwards. Of course Egypt are doubly suffering the consequences of their neighbours actions are getting ready to defend their Sinai Suez-side zone and have beefed up security accordingly their side of the wall  to ensure that this unwanted influx does not happen, although they have also built a special new cage to keep all of the refugees in just in case. Israhell, though, have had a lot of practice at getting everything their own way without attracting any (long overdue) criticism from uncle sam. I guess that they would prolly just  blame the Hamsters for starting it and if some (more) stray rockets accidently took out some strategic sections of the border wall this would uncork a great flood of desperate refugees with an easy escape route into Sinai. Of course I expect there are quite a few other ways for their real terrorist targets to get in and out since the Hamster tunnels, which Israel love to claim are hidden underneath every single important building that they have so far attcked inside of Gaza, will almost certainly have been originally constructed to stretch outside of the Gazaen borders. That would have been be my primary reason for digging any such tunnels in the first place, a secret way to confound the enemy. The remaining hostages prolly aren't even in Gaza anymore and are quite possibly being held where nobody would ever think of looking for them, under the wall and off to a safe house arrest in Israel! The actual number of remaining hostages is unknown but it's been dwindling away since day one so under a hundred left by my estimates. How long until there are none left at all? one way or another the sand is falling on them, too and will the return of the last of these martyrs actually end this war? No. It. Will. Not. It will just take things up to the next level. I suppose you will want a prediction now? Hmmm. IDK. A guess? Ok June 6th '24. why? Because counting in cat numbers is as good a number as any.

Control Room

The most interesting political news this month came from the Pakistan elections. A civil war lies ahead there methinks, what with the army trying to go against the will of the people. I thought I saw civil war ahead way back when the US pressured the Pakistani parliament into ousting mr Khan from power. However, I do believe that more power to more people will always be the deciding factor in any free and fair democracy. People power will win WWV. 1/11/77. Africa is rife with conflict and South America is getting worse by the day. There are lots more big elections to come in '24, including the big three of Russia, SA,  USA and UK. If only Ukraine were also allowed to hold elections this year then the real people could have their say on how things are really going.

Vlod's future is reliant upon US congress signing them off some more war money and whilst this current tranche will probably make it through at some point this year That Will Be It. There certainly won't be any more paydays after that. It's an election year. Seeing the end fast approaching, Ukraine's military have recently changed their attack tactics again as Vlod swaps his generals about to persevere with his unhinged rhetoric that he can still actually win this war. Meanwhilst Vlad's red army continue to grind their ways westwards to the Donbas Oblast's borders where they can put up their flag and say mission accomplished. Everything then is on track with original thinking and so I'm happy to stick with my first peace plan prediction of a new frontier in Aug 2025.

Outside of the the sphere of war and Iceland has erupted again in both Jan and Feb making it a hattrick when you add last December. Recent tremors predict March is looking very likely to keep the eruption run going. If you prefer your eruptions on a much larger scale, then I can report that there was a mahoosive also solar flare the other day (X3.4 whatever that means) which has rather fortunately missed planet earth (again) but did rather impressively wash its way outwards to engulf the planets Mercury, Venus and Mars. There is a big Solar eclipse due in April and at some point very soon the sun is also due to flip it's polarity once again so the chances of planet Earth getting whacked by a radiation wave big enough to knock out half of our sattelites are currently running quite high...We can't keep dodging these solar bullets for ever, they have hit us before ffs, but the this will be the first time we will actually had the technology to se it coming.


After just one turn of the wheel for El Nino, they say that La Nina is aparently set to return to further stir up the weather pot again. Australia was either far too dry or far too wet last year which is indicative of how far the cracks are widening. Dubai got flooded out by excessive rainfall recently which is not bad going for a desert country. Death Valley has just had enough rainfall to create a new lake, lake mead is still drying up, and the great salt lake is apparently dying. California has already received half a years worth of rain in one go. New heat record's have been set in Morocco, floods in Zambia and Mongolia is apparently experiencing 'the Zud', which is a new one on me but is also not a good thing. There are wildfires in countries all across South America, Venus flashed green, a dozen florida tornadoes and Minus 43° in sweden.The year is barely getting started but it's promising to go down in history as the year folk started getting really worried. Empty Moon When you rattle the books, something new always falls out that you never noticed before. I’ve found some pretty big clues in my time, but this find might just unlock a whole new level for exploration and imagination both. In Chapter 53. Auri presents Kvothe with a key. This is the first gift that she brings him and it turns out to be key to unlocking what comes next. “ What does it unlock?”  “The moon.”  “That should be useful.” Her timing is perfect as holding thoughts about the moon in my head over the next few chapters led me to noticing a few familiar shapes in the overall pattern of things, and when you notice a pattern to follow, if gives you some idea of where the next step really  ought  to be, even if you cannot actually  see  it, and that gives you the confidence to take a more confident leap into the unknown, relying on what isn’t actually stated there to support you and your theory both. Track Record

Track Record Day and Night Now that we finally have one foot in the Fae, some form of map may be rather useful before continuing. Half a page or so of hints is not much to go on but it should be enough as life in the Fae is governed by two things, dark and light, and the further out from the centre you go, the darker it gets. To gather the materials for Kvothe’s shaed took an expedition out into the outer limits where strange and dangerous things live. The sky darkened and the stars dwindled but there were still trees in this part of Fae, vast trunks and dark branches like a cathedral towered all around them. One unseen but terrifying presence was attracted by foolish Kvothe when he decided to make some light to see by, stupid boy.
