Tak
Tak is a board game played between black and white. Over the course of the next few chapters we are going to observe a game of Tak played between two Gods. Black v White. One side of The board represents the Ergen Empire whilst the other side represents the nameless void. The largest available game that we have rules for is 64 squares which is the same size as a chess board. There are two kinds of Tak piece: stones and capstones. On this size board each player is allowed 50 stones and two capstones and the object of the game is to make a road of 8 stones from one side to the other.
Now. We might well imagine that seven stones can represent seven cities of Ergen with the Capstone being Myr Tariniel to create one great straight winning line of white stones. And that's the state of play that we want in our heads today.
Diag.
Now Myr T was essentially a tower built of white stone which held the light that kept darkness at bay. I think that makes it a lighthouse. And Selitos was the lighthouse keeper. If all the other cities follow this trend that would make a 5 long string of lighthouses called Belen , Anthus, Vaeret, Tinusan, Emlen, each with their own light keeper. Then we have the twin lights of Murilla and Murella before the big light on the end. Until one day 7 lights went out plunging the world into shadow. Just one light remained against the encroaching dark, Murella. Who's candle still burned white.
